LUXEON Rebel PC Amber sets new benchmark

San Jose, Calif. - LUXEON Rebel PC Amber is setting a new benchmark for performance in fluorescent-converted amber LEDs. The key impact is not only in the automotive and specialty markets, but also in the general market. The cold/hot factor, which indicates how much the luminous flux output has under normal operating conditions and the ratio of the luminous flux output under normal test conditions, is increased by 12% (at a junction temperature of 80 degrees). Its lumen value and lumens per watt (light effect value) exceed any power type amber LEDs.

Amber LEDs have been indispensable for lighting applications in the automotive and construction/manufacturing industries for some time; in the general lighting sector, they have also been used in entertainment solutions. At present, manufacturers of LED bulbs have a special preference when they plan to replace traditional incandescent bulbs, that is, they want to replicate the color gradient from white to red-yellow like incandescent lamps when the light is dimmed.

Unlike traditional light bulbs, white LEDs do not change color when the light is dimmed, so the color of white light is always the same. Adding amber LEDs to the system allows the LED bulb to achieve the desired results when the light changes. However, the light output of the conventional amber LEDs is poor, and the color stability is low in the high temperature environment of the LED bulb.
