A Pinpoint Trolling Motor is an excellent addition to your fishing vessel. These compact, battery-powered motors are lightweight and portable. They propel you at lower trolling speeds to easily maneuver around low-speed zones or fishing spots without disturbing wildlife with loud engine noise. Most important, of course, they propel your fishing lure through the water at the proper speed to entice the fish. Accessories like foot pedal throttle controls and steering add to the trolling motor's functionality.
Set two 12-volt batteries in a secure location on your boat. Slide the batteries together, aligning the positive posts with each other.
Stretch a length of battery cable from the ground post of the first 24 Volt Trolling Motor Wiring Diagrambattery to the positive post of the second battery. Cut the cable two inches longer than needed with a pair of cable cutters. Remove 5/8 inch of protective sheathing from each end of the cut cable with a utility knife.
Slide one battery terminal clamp over each end of the battery cable. Tighten the two hex bolts of each battery clamp with a 7/16-inch wrench.
Push one end of the prepared battery cable onto the ground post of the first battery. Push the other battery terminal clamp on the positive terminal of the second battery. Tighten the clamps to the batteries with a 7/16-inch wrench.
Connect the positive lead coming from the Kayak Motor to the positive post of the first battery. Hook the negative lead coming from the 24-volt trolling motor to the negative post of the second battery. Tighten both connections with the 7/16-inch wrench.
